At Marsden Therapy, we are dedicated to supporting children who are finding it difficult to adjust to changes in their lives. Change can be overwhelming for young people, and they may struggle to understand or adapt to new situations. This may include transitioning to a new school, adjusting to shifts within the family, or learning new skills as they grow.

To support children through these challenges, we provide two core services: Psychology and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).

Our Psychology team helps children understand how their thoughts, emotions, and experiences influence their behaviour and wellbeing. Through evidence-based therapeutic approaches, our Psychologists support children in recognising and expressing emotions, building coping skills, managing anxiety and stress, improving emotional regulation, and developing resilience and confidence. This service is particularly beneficial for children experiencing emotional difficulties, behavioural changes, or challenges related to mental health and adjustment.

Our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) service focuses on understanding the reasons behind behaviours of concern and creating practical, strengths-based strategies to support positive change. We use a holistic and person-centred approach to identify what a child is communicating through their behaviour and work toward building new skills that improve their daily life. PBS is especially helpful for children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, or challenges related to communication, regulation, or behaviour. Our approach includes functional behaviour assessments, identifying triggers and patterns, teaching replacement and adaptive skills, supporting emotional regulation, and working with families, carers, and educators to ensure consistent strategies.

Together, our Psychology and PBS services help children feel supported, understood, and empowered as they navigate change and develop lifelong skills.
