Why Choose Us

Sessions, where a speech-language pathologist (SLP) and an occupational therapist (OT) collaborate on a child’s treatment, are referred to as a joint speech and occupational therapy (OT) sessions. Children who struggle with their sensory or motor skills as well as their speech and language may benefit from these sessions.

The SLP and OT may concentrate on a range of abilities during combination speech and OT sessions, including:

Development of speech and language: The SLP may concentrate on enhancing a child’s language abilities, including vocabulary, grammar, and pragmatic (social) language.

Fine motor abilities: Using playdough, holding tiny objects, and cutting with scissors are just a few of the fine motor skills exercises that the OT may focus on.

Sensory processing: The OT may suggest exercises, such as trampoline jumping or using toys that apply deep pressure, to help a kid better process and react to sensory input.

Self-care abilities:  The OT may assist a kid in learning abilities including dressing, bathing, and tooth brushing.

Play and leisure skills: An occupational therapist (OT) could work with a child to develop play and leisure skills, such as playing with toys and taking part in leisure activities.

Visual-motor skills:  The OT might recommend exercises like colouring, drawing, and solving puzzles to help with eye-hand coordination.
